Coaching and mentoring

Many people are unsure about what coaching is or the benefits it brings individuals and the organisations they work for. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) defines coaching as "developing a person's skills, knowledge and confidence so that their job performance improves, leading to the achievement of organisational objectives"

I see coaching as a one to one developmental discussion, challenging you to move forward and providing you with feedback and insight into your strengths and weaknesses. You might come when you are feeling stuck or feel unable to move forward on a difficult issue at work. You might have moved up into a new role and be looking for some support whilst you find your feet. Or you may be looking to move on, but unsure how, or to what.

I offer coaching sessions to senior managers in the voluntary and community sector, many of whom are feeling isolated and unsupported. I also work with small teams and groups, offering non-managerial supervision or supporting them through specific situations and challenges.
