This piece of work was undertaken as part of a consultancy team from the Centre for Charity Effectiveness. We undertook a review of what effectiveness looked like at CHASE by holding a number of interviews and staff focus groups. We developed a balanced score card for the organisation, with a series of effectiveness indicators. A pilot staff survey collected 'soft' data and this was combined with 'hard' data collection to give an annual picture of how effective the organisation currently was and where improvement could be made. CHASE are now extending this pilot scheme to other Children's Hospices across the country.
